How Our Appointments Work

When you book an engineer, we reserve a dedicated time slot for your visit. This ensures we can provide timely, professional service with minimal disruption to your day.

Call-Out & Labour Charges

All engineer attendances include an initial call-out charge, which covers travel, assessment, and the first hour of labour.
Labour thereafter is charged from approximately £95 per hour, depending on the type of work required.

We always provide a clear breakdown before work begins, and we never proceed without your approval.

Appointment Windows

To ensure efficiency and accommodate travel between appointments, our engineers work within arrival windows. We’ll confirm your approximate arrival time and keep you updated if delays occur.

Rescheduling & Cancellations

We understand plans change. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment:

• Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice where possible

• Short-notice cancellations may incur a missed appointment fee if the engineer is already en route

Our team will always do our best to accommodate your availability.

Emergency vs Routine Appointments

Routine appointments are scheduled in advance.
Emergency appointments are prioritised based on urgency and safety concerns and may carry higher priority rates.

Customer Responsibilities

To help us work efficiently, please ensure:

• Clear access to the work area

• Someone aged 18+ is present throughout the visit

• Pets are secured where necessary

• Parking is available or permits provided (if required)

No Back-to-Back Appointments

For engineer safety and accuracy:

• Cortech does not accept back-to-back bookings in distant locations.

• Travel buffers are automatically added between appointments.

What Happens After the Consultation

• If the client accepts the estimate, work will be scheduled.

• Only the engineer can determine job length and availability.

• Appointments will appear in Cortech’s official scheduling calendar.
